"Basalt" is a visual exploration of resilience, transformation, and the silent forces beneath the surface. Drawing inspiration from volcanic rock formed under immense heat and pressure, this abstract work reflects on the slow, powerful shaping of identity through time and tension. The textures and forms suggest stratification—layers of experience, memory, and emotion—compressed into something both solid and evolving.

Rather than depict basalt literally, I aimed to evoke its presence and metaphor through movement, contrast, and density. The piece invites viewers to feel the grounded weight of what lies unseen: the origins that shape us, and the internal geology we each carry.
